I promise there will actually be video on here at some point. But for now you'll have to settle for comprehending the meaning of written matter by mentally interpreting the characters or symbols of which it is composed (also known as "reading").
OK, so I just had two logos selected for LogoLounge's upcoming "Master Library Series: Shapes and Symbols" book. It will be published in the next year and out in bookstores etc etc. For those of you who don't know, LogoLounge is one of the leading publishers of logos worldwide and feature tons of great artists. It's a great place for logo research, discussion, inspiration and reference. So needless to say, I'm real excited/honored/humbled to be published in it and love the fact that the logos selected are two of my favorites:
1. Oikos
About a year and a half ago, our church (Grace Church in Normal, Illinois) launched an evangelism paradigm (sounds scary I know) called Oikos and needed a consistent brand identity. Oikos is the Greek word for household, or in other words, your circle of influence. Your circle of influence is broken up into 3 categories: friends, family and associates. So this logo illustrates each of those categories, while also referencing the Trinity and the interconnectedness of it all. The circle shape represents the "circle of influence" and the green symbolizing "life" and "growth," which comes from God alone.
2. Delta Innovations
This logo is just one in the Delta Community, located in Bloomington, Illinois. In addition to developing the 5 logos, I was able to design vehicle signage as well as the brand new electronic sign on Empire St. I came up with the slogan "Upward Thinking," which acknowledges the Christian business model Delta uses as well as positioning them as an innovator in each of their markets.
